Merck says remigromig meets primary endpoint in pivotal BRUNELLO trial for diabetic macular edema

1. Trial results
Merck reported topline results from the pivotal Phase 2b/3 BRUNELLO trial in adults with diabetic macular edema. Both remigromig doses met the primary goal, matching ranibizumab on vision outcomes over 52 weeks, while serious eye complications and discontinuations were more frequent with remigromig. Merck plans regulatory discussions and is continuing a second pivotal DME study; year-one data will be presented Oct. 10 at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting.
