1. Meta Joins Ratepayer Protection Pledge
Meta Platforms and several leading tech firms signed a voluntary ratepayer protection pledge to prevent AI data centers from driving up consumer electricity costs. Under the agreement, Meta will build or procure the power needed for its AI infrastructure and cover grid connection upgrades, paying a separate rate from households.
2. Meta Commits $100B to AMD for AI Chips
Meta has agreed to a $100 billion multi-year hardware purchase contract with AMD, securing its supply of AI data-center processors. The deal follows AMD’s report of 34% revenue growth in 2025 for its AI-focused products and underscores Meta’s push to scale its AI compute capacity.
