Meta has contracted two Zelestra-built solar projects in Texas under long-term power purchase agreements, including the 253MWdc Echols Grove plant in Lamar County and the 188MWdc Cedar Range facility in Hopkins County as part of a 1.2GWdc, seven-project partnership.

2. Construction schedule and EPC partner

Construction began in January 2026 with McCarthy Building Companies appointed as lead engineering, procurement and construction contractor, and both sites on track for full commercial operations by late 2027.

3. Economic and community benefits

The development spans 2,400 acres with 704,000 bifacial modules, expected to generate over 400 local jobs and drive approximately $20 million in community economic activity.

4. Expanding renewable energy strategy

These projects contribute to Meta’s broader renewable energy commitments and leverage Zelestra’s US portfolio of about 15GW of renewable initiatives, accelerating the company’s clean energy sourcing.
