Meta Platforms shares rose 2% in after-hours trading after the company struck a multiyear deal to deploy millions of Nvidia Blackwell and Rubin GPUs plus Spectrum-X Ethernet switches. 1. Multiyear Nvidia AI Infrastructure Deal

Meta has entered a multiyear strategic partnership with Nvidia to expand its AI infrastructure by building hyperscale data centers optimized for training and inference. The pact will deploy millions of Nvidia Blackwell and Rubin GPUs alongside Spectrum-X Ethernet switches to support the company’s large-scale personalization and recommendation systems.

2. First Large-Scale Grace-Only CPU Integration

As part of the agreement, Meta will implement Nvidia’s Grace-only CPUs in its data centers for the first large-scale deployment of these processors. Grace CPUs are expected to deliver significant performance-per-watt improvements, with further expansions planned for the next-generation Vera CPUs around 2027.

3. Privacy-Enhanced AI for WhatsApp

Meta has adopted Nvidia Confidential Computing to enable AI-driven features on WhatsApp while protecting user privacy. The company plans to extend these privacy-enhanced computing capabilities across its portfolio to bolster data security in its AI applications.
