Mexican economy grows 0.8% in July from June
EWG•Mexico’s economy grew 0.8% month over month in July, above a 0.2% poll forecast; annual growth was 3.4%, above a 2.5% forecast.
1. Monthly growth
Official data showed Mexico’s economy expanded 0.8% in July from June. The national statistics agency revised June activity to flat from a preliminary contraction.
2. Sector details
July growth was driven mainly by a 1.2% increase in the tertiary sector, including transport and wholesale trade. The secondary sector, including construction and manufacturing, grew 0.5%.
