Mexico analysts slightly trim inflation forecast for 2026, 2027
EWW•Analysts polled by Mexico’s central bank lowered their headline and core inflation forecasts for 2026 and 2027. They raised their 2026 growth estimate to 1.40% from 1.30% and expect the benchmark rate to remain at 6.50% through the end of next year.
1. Forecasts revised
The 12 analysts surveyed between September 15 and 28 expect headline inflation of 3.87% in 2026, down from 3.90%, and core inflation of 3.90%, down from 3.99%. For 2027, they forecast headline inflation of 3.82%, versus 3.84% previously, and core inflation of 3.78%, versus 3.80%.
2. Growth and rates
The median estimate for Mexico’s 2026 economic growth rose to 1.40% from 1.30%; the 2027 estimate remained 1.80%. Analysts do not foresee further adjustments to the benchmark interest rate, currently 6.50%, through the end of 2027.
