Mexico Fund H1 NAV Returns 15.13%, Discount Widens to 14.24%
MXF•In H1 fiscal 2026 The Mexico Fund’s NAV returned 15.13% against a 17.69% MSCI Mexico benchmark, while market price returned 12.57%. As of April 30 its market price and NAV were $21.14 and $24.65, reflecting a 14.24% discount, and quarterly distributions rose 40% to $0.35 per share.
1. Semi-Annual Performance
During the six months ended April 30, 2026, The Mexico Fund’s NAV per share achieved a total return of 15.13%, lagging its MSCI Mexico benchmark’s 17.69% gain, while its market price delivered a 12.57% total return during the same period.
2. Market Price and NAV Discount
As of April 30, the fund’s market price was $21.14 and NAV was $24.65 per share, creating a market discount of 14.24%, up from an 11.94% discount at the end of fiscal 2025, despite long-term outperformance versus the benchmark over one, three, five and ten years.
3. Distribution Increase
The board raised quarterly distributions by 40%, from $0.25 to $0.35 per share, payable July 30, 2026 to holders of record on July 22, 2026. Since inception of the managed distribution plan in September 2008, the fund has distributed $28.68 per share in cash.
4. Expense Limitation Agreement
The fund renewed its expense limitation agreement capping the ordinary expense ratio at 1.40% for fiscal 2026, provided net assets exceed $260 million. The ordinary expense ratio for H1 was 1.34%, remaining below the agreed cap.
