MFA Financial names Bryan Wulfsohn CEO effective July 2027
MFA•MFA Financial said Bryan Wulfsohn will become president and CEO on July 1, 2027, after Craig L. Knutson retires June 30. Wulfsohn will join the board Jan. 1, 2027, and Andrew P. Kail will become senior vice president and chief investment officer that day.

MFA Financial set a CEO transition for 2027, with Knutson retiring June 30. Wulfsohn, the company’s president and chief investment officer, will become president and CEO on July 1 and join the board Jan. 1, expanding it to eight directors. Kail, formerly Starwood Capital’s head of residential lending, will join as senior vice president and chief investment officer Jan. 1.
