Microsoft unveiled Majorana 2, its second-generation quantum chip redesigned through AI-driven materials science to incorporate lead-based components. By switching from aluminum to lead, the chip achieved a 1,000-fold improvement in key metrics, and Microsoft now targets commercially viable quantum systems by 2029.
2. MDASH AI Security Platform
The company introduced MDASH, an AI-powered security scanning platform in expanded preview, which deploys over 100 configurable models to identify software vulnerabilities at high speed. MDASH aims to collapse the discovery-to-fix timeline, enabling enterprises to preempt exploits generated by sophisticated AI-driven attackers.
