MicroVision Validates Luminar Acquisition with 360° Tri-Lidar Fusion at ACT Expo
MicroVision successfully live-demonstrated its Tri-Lidar Architecture, integrating one HALO long-range and three MOVIA S short-range lidars into a unified 360-degree real-time perception system. The demonstration at ACT Expo validated strategic value of its Luminar Technologies acquisition, showcasing synchronized software-enabled point-cloud fusion for high-fidelity object detection, classification and tracking.
1. Tri-Lidar Architecture Demonstration
MicroVision live-demonstrated its Tri-Lidar Architecture at ACT Expo, pairing one HALO long-range lidar with three MOVIA S short-range sensors to deliver continuous 360-degree environmental coverage. The company’s software platform fused data from all sensors in real time, generating a single high-fidelity point cloud for accurate object detection, classification and tracking.
2. Integration of HALO Long-Range and MOVIA S Sensors
In just a few months, MicroVision’s engineering team integrated the newly acquired HALO long-range lidar technology from Luminar with its existing MOVIA S platform. The synchronized, software-enabled architecture delivers improved performance, energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional single-sensor approaches.
3. Validation of Luminar Acquisition Value
The live on-road demonstration provided early validation of the strategic value created through the Luminar asset acquisition. This milestone advances MicroVision’s path toward commercialization of integrated hardware and software lidar solutions across automotive, industrial and security markets.
