Mirae Asset Boosts Ecolab Stake 20.5% to $18.25M in Q3

Mirae Asset Global Investments increased its stake in Ecolab by 20.5% during Q3, acquiring an additional 11,322 shares to hold 66,656 shares valued at $18.25 million at quarter end. Institutional investors now own 74.91% of the company’s outstanding stock.

1. Major Institutional Investors Expand Positions

During the third quarter, the National Pension Service increased its holding in Ecolab by 1.7%, acquiring an additional 9,837 shares to reach a total of 597,913 shares, representing approximately 0.21% of the company. In the preceding quarter, Norges Bank initiated a new position valued at about 847 million, while Vontobel Holding nearly doubled its stake, adding 1,109,585 shares to reach 2,036,339 shares. AQR Capital Management boosted its position by 115.6%, purchasing 389,981 shares for a total of 727,370 shares. Robeco Institutional Asset Management raised its holding by 64.5%, adding 344,541 shares to reach 878,829 shares. Vanguard Group modestly increased its stake by 1.0%, acquiring 250,980 shares to hold 24,662,213 shares. Collectively, institutional and hedge fund ownership stands at 74.91%.

2. Analyst Ratings and Price Targets

Research firms have recently updated their outlook on Ecolab. UBS Group shifted to a neutral stance and set a target of 295, while Erste Group moved to hold status. Mizuho established a target of 315, and Evercore ISI upgraded to outperform with a target of 300. Wells Fargo maintained an equal-weight rating and raised its objective to 275. Among covering analysts, one recommends strong buy, ten recommend buy and six recommend hold, yielding a consensus ‘Moderate Buy’ rating and an average target of 297.33.

3. Dividend Increase and Insider Transactions

Ecolab’s board approved a quarterly dividend of 0.73 per share, up from 0.65, resulting in an annualized payout of 2.92 and a yield of 1.0% with a payout ratio of 41.95%. On the insider front, Executive Vice President Boo Alexander A. De reduced his position by 19.9%, selling 1,422 shares and now owning 5,726 shares. Director David Maclennan purchased 750 shares, increasing his holding by 3.4% to 23,035 shares. Insider ownership remains at approximately 0.04% of total shares outstanding.
