Mirae Asset Boosts Ecolab Stake 20.5% to $18.3 Million

Mirae Asset Global Investments upped its Ecolab stake by 20.5% to 66,656 shares in Q3 after buying 11,322 shares, valuing its holding at $18.25 million. Institutional ownership in Ecolab is 74.91%, with Norges Bank, Vontobel, AQR, Robeco and Vanguard also holding significant positions.

During the third quarter, National Pension Service increased its holding in Ecolab by 1.7%, adding 9,837 shares to reach a total of 597,913 shares valued at $163.7 million, representing 0.21% of the company. Since late October, five major research firms have updated their outlooks on Ecolab. Evercore ISI upgraded the shares from "in-line" to "outperform" and raised its target from $265 to $300. UBS Group increased its target from $291 to $295 while maintaining a "neutral" stance. Wells Fargo & Company adjusted its objective upward from $270 to $275 with an "equal weight" rating. Erste Group Bank shifted from "buy" to "hold," and Mizuho set a $315 target. Among seventeen analysts covering the stock, one recommends a Strong Buy, ten a Buy and six a Hold, yielding an average consensus rating of "Moderate Buy" and an aggregate target of $297.33.

3. Dividend Hike and Insider Transactions

Ecolab declared a quarterly dividend of $0.73 per share, up from $0.65, representing an annualized payout of $2.92 and a yield of 1.0%, with a payout ratio at 41.95%. The dividend was distributed on January 15 to shareholders of record as of December 16. On the insider front, EVP Boo Alexander A. De sold 1,422 shares on November 24 for proceeds totaling $381,451.50, reducing his position by 19.9% to 5,726 shares. Director David Maclennan acquired 750 shares on December 8 at an average cost of $257.60 per share, increasing his stake by 3.37% to 23,035 shares.
