MKS Investing $25M to Add 323,000 Sq Ft in Guangzhou, Doubling Capacity
MKSI•MKS Inc is investing USD 25 million to add 323,000 square feet at its Guangzhou Atotech manufacturing site, targeting a doubling of production capacity by Q4 2027. The expanded facility will integrate production, assembly, logistics and testing operations while incorporating a photovoltaic system to supply significant daytime electricity demand.
1. Expansion Investment and Capacity
MKS Inc is allocating USD 25 million to expand its Atotech manufacturing facility in Guangzhou by 323,000 square feet. Upon completion in Q4 2027, the site’s production capacity is expected to double, supporting higher volumes in semiconductor, advanced packaging and PCB markets.
2. Integration and Operations Enhancement
The expansion will seamlessly integrate new production lines with existing assembly, logistics and testing operations. Improved workflow designs aim to shorten lead times, reduce complexity and boost delivery reliability for key electronic manufacturing customers across Asia.
3. Sustainability and R&D Support
A rooftop photovoltaic system will supply a significant portion of daytime electricity demand, advancing the site’s energy efficiency and sustainability goals. The facility will also continue to host R&D activities and foster global technology collaboration with original equipment manufacturers.
