Monte Rosa’s MRT-6160 enters Phase 2 trial in psoriatic arthritis
GLUE•Novartis initiated a second Phase 2 study of Monte Rosa Therapeutics’ MRT-6160 in active moderate to severe psoriatic arthritis. The first patient visit triggers a $37.5 million milestone payment under the companies’ license agreement.
1. Trial and milestone
The randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2a/b trial will evaluate MRT-6160’s efficacy, safety, tolerability and dose response. The first patient visit triggers a $37.5 million milestone payment under the partners’ exclusive global development and commercialization license agreement.
2. Other study details
A Phase 2 trial of MRT-6160 in Sjögren’s disease began in August, and additional Phase 2 study initiations could trigger further milestone payments. In Phase 1, the drug showed sustained, dose-dependent VAV1 degradation exceeding 90% in peripheral blood T cells, with no serious adverse effects observed.
