In this role, Mr. Laws will oversee all business line operations across Montrose’s network of approximately 120 locations and 3,500 employees worldwide. The company highlighted his mandate to advance operational excellence, drive integration of service lines and enhance organizational efficiency across air measurement, laboratory services, regulatory compliance, permitting, engineering and remediation divisions.

James Laws brings 25 years of leadership in the environmental services sector, most recently serving as Senior Vice President at AECOM, where he managed environmental remediation, air quality, environmental health and safety, permitting and planning, and large-scale federal programs. Prior to that, he spent 16 years at CH2M HILL (now Jacobs Solutions Inc.), leading major EPA and Department of Defense contracts. Mr. Laws holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California and is recognized for his hands-on approach to scaling operations and delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects on time and on budget.

By appointing Mr. Laws, Montrose aims to accelerate its integration strategy following recent acquisitions and internal restructuring. The company expects operational cost savings of 5% to 7% over the next 12 months through streamlined workflows and standardized reporting. Under Mr. Laws’s leadership, Montrose projects a 10% improvement in project delivery times and a 15% increase in cross-sell revenue among existing clients, reinforcing Montrose’s competitive positioning in both commercial and government markets.
