Monumental Sports unveils USD 1 billion-plus Capital One Arena overhaul in Washington, D.C

Capital One extended arena naming rights for 20 years, securing long-term branding tied to the rebuilt venue.

Upgrades include redesigned concourses, expanded entrances, new internal circulation, upgraded food and beverage, and a relocated cardholder entrance opening for all events in fall 2027.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment unveiled a $1 billion+ redevelopment of Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., targeting completion before the 2027-28 NBA and NHL seasons.

The project plan calls for about 250 events a year, preserving the arena’s role as home for the Capitals, Wizards and Georgetown men’s basketball.
