Morgan Stanley names Bottega as new EMEA investments head

LONDON, July 30 (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley MS.N has appointed insider Laura Bottega to head up its investment management business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), according to a memo seen by Reuters, as the Wall Street banking giant looks to accelerate expansion of the unit overseas.
Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), which manages $2 trillion in assets globally, said Bottega had been promoted from her previous role as chief operating officer and head of client experience in its international equity team.
In her role, Bottega will work on broadening MSIM's product range in EMEA, including expanding access to alternatives and launching active exchange traded funds in Europe, the memo said.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2006, Bottega worked in active equities product management at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
