MultiSensor AI survey finds 91% of logistics operators approve automation despite maintenance readiness gap

Financial exposure is large: 95% of VPs said a major downtime event could match or exceed annual automation spend; 55% invested $5 million-$25 million.

MultiSensor AI published “The Uptime Economy: 2026 Report” based on a Censuswide survey of 152 ecommerce logistics maintenance leaders.

The survey shows a maintenance-readiness gap: 91% implemented automation despite teams not being prepared to maintain it; 49% saw this more than once.

Downtime risk appears under-monitored: only 10% continuously track all critical assets; 98% report at least one single point of failure.

Operational disruption also appears frequent: 80% reported six or more unplanned downtime events in the past 12 months; 36% saw increases.
