At April 15 settlement, short interest in 3,689 Nasdaq Global Market securities rose to 16.58B shares, representing 2.71 days to cover, up from 16.51B shares and 2.73 days on March 31. Capital Market issues’ short interest increased to 3.92B shares (1.16 days), from 3.88B shares (1.30 days) previously.

As of the April 15 settlement, short interest across all 5,332 Nasdaq securities totaled 20.498 billion shares, up from 20.396 billion shares at the end of March. The aggregate days-to-cover ratio compressed to 2.16 days from 2.26 days in the prior reporting period.

The Nasdaq Global Market saw short interest in 3,689 issues rise to 16.579 billion shares, compared with 16.514 billion shares at the March 31 settlement. The segment’s days-to-cover metric edged down to 2.71 days from 2.73 days.
3. Capital Market Segment Data
On the Nasdaq Capital Market, short interest climbed to 3.919 billion shares across 1,643 issues, up from 3.882 billion shares previously. Average days to cover narrowed to 1.16 days from 1.30 days.
