The upgrade adds 13,200-volt distribution delivery alongside the site’s legacy 4,160-volt service, supplying larger loads in Larkinville and the First Ward. The project went online this summer and is the first milestone in a multi-year reliability and resiliency plan; National Grid targets about a dozen Buffalo-area substations for modernization or rebuilding.
