NBT Bancorp Q2 net income more than doubles on Evans acquisition
NBTB•Dividend and capital returns
NBT Bancorp said it raised its quarterly dividend by 8.1% and repurchased $3 million in shares.
The company said it is well positioned entering the second half of 2026 and sees continued momentum across its banking franchise.
Quarterly results rise sharply
NBT Bancorp said second-quarter net income more than doubled from a year earlier, with earnings per share also rising sharply.
- Q2 EPS: $1.02
- Q2 net income: $53.03 million
- Q2 net interest income: $137.57 million
- Q2 net interest margin: 3.73%
- Q2 provision for loan losses: $6.13 million
Evans acquisition and loan growth drive results
The company said the Evans Bancorp acquisition drove increases in net interest income, noninterest income and expenses compared with the prior year.
All business lines experienced loan growth in the quarter, supporting higher net interest income. NBT also said the net interest margin improved due to a decrease in the cost of funds.
