New York Yankees pick Lumen to run game-day connectivity, shift primary data center to Tampa

Lumen won a contract with the New York Yankees to run the network linking Yankee Stadium with the team’s facilities in Tampa, Florida.

The Yankees moved their primary data center out of Yankee Stadium to a new purpose-built Tampa facility engineered to withstand 200 mph sustained winds.

The network uses two separate 100-gigabit fiber routes with automatic failover to keep connectivity between New York and Tampa.

Network-as-a-Service lets the Yankees scale bandwidth for game-day demand, including stadium Wi-Fi loads that can exceed 50,000 users.
