Nexa Resources swings to Q3 net loss of US$47 million from year-earlier profit
NEXA•Nexa Resources reported a third-quarter 2026 net loss of US$47 million, while adjusted EBITDA rose 62% year over year to US$301 million. Zinc production increased 7% from the prior quarter to 85,000 tonnes, and 2026 capital expenditure guidance rose 10% to US$420 million.
1. Earnings and production
Nexa Resources’ third-quarter 2026 adjusted EBITDA rose 62% year over year to US$301 million, driven by higher zinc prices and stronger by-product contributions. Mining zinc production climbed 7% quarter over quarter to 85,000 tonnes, led by higher throughput at Aripuanã and normalized Peruvian operations.
2. Higher capital spending
The company raised its 2026 capital expenditure guidance 10% to US$420 million, primarily for accelerated Aripuanã mine development, earlier Cerro Pasco investments and real appreciation. Boliden’s acquisition of Votorantim’s 64.68% controlling stake is still expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to approvals.
