After the New York Knicks ended a 53-year title drought with their first championship since 1999, Nike ramped up availability of Knicks jerseys, custom quick-strike tees and Nike By You graphics at its SoHo store. The brand’s NBA Finals merchandise sales doubled the previous 2020 record, and Fanatics reported peak order volumes exceeding 8,000 per minute. Concurrently, FIFA World Cup matches across North America are spurring demand for soccer gear and cleats, adding to Nike’s retail tailwinds.
2. Stock Performance and Earnings Outlook
Nike shares have declined 28.5% year-to-date, recently trading near an 11-year low after hitting $41.35 on May 18. The company will report fiscal Q4 results on June 30, with analysts projecting $0.11 EPS on $10.87 billion revenue, and the options market pricing an approximate 11% share-price move for the post-earnings session.
