- Only 35% of leaders expect their own business prospects to improve over the next 12 months, down 2 points from May.
- Footfall weakened: 41% reported declines, versus 34% reporting increases.
- Only 41% reported higher quarterly revenue year on year.
- Profit pressure intensified: 52% reported lower profitability or said operations are loss-making or unviable.
- Cost inflation drove concern: employment costs were up 10.7% per person over two years, and 85% cited higher labor costs.
