Northrop Grumman wins $18.8 million US Army contract for extended-range counter-drone missile work
NOC•Northrop Grumman won an $18.8 million U.S. Army contract to develop solid-fuel ramjet propulsion for extended-range counter-drone missile prototypes.
1. Missile development work
The work targets extended-range counter-UAS interceptors for the Army’s M-SHORAD air-defense system, aiming to increase range and engagement energy. The program includes ground and flight testing to validate designs and production processes, with manufacturing scaled for rapid fielding. Development will take place at Northrop’s Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in West Virginia.
