Norway should allow wealth fund to invest in major arms makers, commission says
LMT•A government-appointed commission recommended that Norway allow its $2.3 trillion wealth fund to invest in major Western defence groups currently barred because of their involvement in nuclear arms production.
1. Commission proposal
The commission said several European and U.S. companies that produce components for nuclear weapons could be reincluded in the fund’s portfolio. Current parliamentary rules prevent investments in companies including Airbus, Boeing, BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin on the grounds that they contribute to making nuclear weapons.
