NRx Pharmaceuticals’ GeNeuro unit won a European patent covering GNK-301, a monoclonal antibody targeting HERV-K envelope protein in ALS.
K Env was detected in spinal fluid of more than 75% of ALS patients; GNK-301 blocked neurotoxic effects in preclinical models.
Development timeline and related patents
GeNeuro started cGMP manufacturing; Phase 1 ALS trials are planned for the second half of 2027 in the US and Europe.
The invention is co-owned with the US Department of Health and Human Services; related US patents have already been issued.
