Nvidia Shifts China-bound H200 Output to Vera Rubin, IREN Orders 50,000 GPUs
Nvidia has halted production of H200 AI chips for China, reallocating TSMC capacity toward its next-generation Vera Rubin hardware after securing export licenses but expecting minimal near-term China sales. Meanwhile, IREN Ltd. ordered 50,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs, boosting its contracted fleet to 150,000 units for 2026 AI cloud deployments.
1. H200 Chip Production Halted for China
Nvidia stopped manufacturing its advanced H200 AI chips destined for China, reallocating TSMC contract foundry capacity to its next-generation Vera Rubin hardware. Despite securing U.S. export licenses for limited shipments, the company does not anticipate significant H200 sales in China in the near term.
2. IREN Places 50,000-Unit B300 GPU Order
AI cloud provider IREN Ltd. signed agreements to purchase 50,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs, raising its total installed and contracted fleet to 150,000 units. These GPUs will be deployed in staged rollouts across British Columbia and Texas sites during the second half of 2026, supporting a potential AI cloud annualized run-rate above $3.7 billion.
