NVDA•Nvidia has begun pitching its new Vera AI accelerator CPUs to Chinese customers with availability from August and at least one cloud provider planning over 300 dual-CPU servers. The move aims to offset stalled H200 shipments that drove China revenue effectively to zero after peaking at $25 billion in 2024.
Nvidia has started offering its Vera AI accelerator CPUs to Chinese customers, with shipments slated to begin in August and a major cloud provider committed to ordering over 300 servers housing two Vera CPUs each.
After U.S. restrictions caused H200 AI chip shipments to China to stall and China revenue to fall to zero from a 2024 peak of $25 billion, Nvidia is turning to Vera as its next-generation solution.
The company forecasts $20 billion in Vera sales by fiscal year-end and aims to revive its China business, while NVDA shares face a fourth consecutive week of declines and retail sentiment has shifted to extremely bearish.
