Nvidia Secures CPU and GPU Growth Capacity, Pledges $150 B Annual Taiwan Investment
NVDA•Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company has sufficient manufacturing capacity to meet growth demands for both CPUs and GPUs after unveiling its AI-enabled RTX Spark PC chip for fall release. He reiterated plans to invest about $150 billion annually in Taiwan to bolster its AI ecosystem.
1. Capacity Assurance for CPUs and GPUs
At the Computex GTC press conference in Taipei, Jensen Huang emphasized that Nvidia has ramped up manufacturing to fully support projected growth for both central processing units and graphics processing units, alleviating long-standing concerns about supply constraints in its core markets.
2. AI-Enabled RTX Spark PC Chip
Huang highlighted the upcoming RTX Spark PC chip, which integrates AI processing directly into laptops and desktops. Slated for a fall launch, the chip is being developed in collaboration with Microsoft as part of an effort to redefine personal computing in the AI era, targeting competition from AMD, Intel and Apple.
3. $150 B Annual Investment in Taiwan
The CEO reaffirmed plans to channel approximately $150 billion each year into Taiwan, calling the island the epicentre of the AI revolution. The investment is aimed at expanding fabrication facilities and strengthening Nvidia’s partnership with local suppliers to support long-term AI infrastructure.
