Ocean Power Technologies receives Naval Postgraduate School order for WAM-V 8 maritime drone
OPTT•Ocean Power Technologies received an order from the Naval Postgraduate School for a WAM-V 8 maritime drone, which the school plans to use for littoral sensing and autonomous-systems research.
1. Research platform order
The Naval Postgraduate School plans to use the WAM-V 8 for littoral sensing and autonomous-systems research, including integration of atmospheric and electro-optical instruments. The order extends an existing relationship that previously included deployment of an Ocean Power Technologies PowerBuoy in Monterey Bay.
