Ocugen licenses OCU400 retinitis pigmentosa gene therapy rights to Roots Pharmaceutical in MENA region

Ocugen signed an exclusive MENA licensing deal with Roots Pharmaceutical for OCU400, its modifier gene therapy for retinitis pigmentosa. The deal includes an upfront license fee, up to $4 million in initial development payments and up to $255 million in sales milestones. Ocugen will receive 22% royalties on OCU400 net sales in the region.
2. Development and supply
Ocugen will manufacture and supply commercial product under a related supply agreement. Topline data from the Phase 3 liMeliGhT trial is expected in the first quarter of 2027, ahead of planned U.S. and European filings.
