Quarterly net income declines as provisions rise
Ohio Valley Banc posted Q2 net income of $2.93 million, down $1.28 million from a year earlier; EPS fell to $0.62 from $0.89.
Provision for credit losses rose to $3.76 million in Q2 and $5.38 million in H1, on specific allocations tied to two collateral-dependent commercial loans.
Net interest income and noninterest income increase
Net interest income climbed 5.9% to $15.49 million in Q2 and rose 9.4% to $30.37 million in H1, as average earning assets expanded.
Noninterest income increased 11.9% to $3.18 million in Q2, helped by $377,000 in unrealized gains on equity securities from a Visa exchange offer.
