Okta today announced the launch of locally hosted Okta Platform tenants in India, scheduled for early 2026 deployment on AWS infrastructure. This initiative delivers full data residency for identity information within India’s borders, enabling customers to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) and sector-specific regulations in banking, financial services, insurance and healthcare. The new offering also includes enhanced disaster recovery capabilities designed to maintain continuity during regional infrastructure outages, providing enterprises with assurances of operational resilience and regulatory alignment as they accelerate digital and AI initiatives.

Okta’s identity security fabric, which unifies governance for both human and machine identities, addresses a critical gap identified by its research: 91% of organizations in India are already leveraging AI agents, yet only 10% have a mature strategy for managing non-human identities. The company’s advanced AI/ML-powered authentication platform has driven a 17% year-over-year increase in remaining performance obligations, reaching $4.29 billion as of the quarter ended October 31, 2025. Okta also counts over 5,000 enterprise customers each spending at least $100,000 annually, underscoring strong retention and the strategic importance of identity security in an era of proliferating cyber threats. With a forward price-to-earnings multiple near its post-IPO low, Okta combines sustained revenue visibility with attractive valuation metrics for growth-oriented investors.
