Origin Agritech narrowed its net loss by 44% year-over-year in the six months ended March 31, 2026, driven by a 44% reduction in operating expenses across R&D, sales and administrative functions, improving operational efficiency ahead of planned commercialization.
2. Strategic Seed Promotion Program
The company formally launched its Aoyun 2026 New Variety Promotion Program at the 2026 Annual Marketing Conference in Changsha, signing FY2026–FY2027 performance accountability contracts with subsidiary general managers and finalizing spring planting deployment plans across six key corn-producing regions.
3. Gene-Editing and Biotechnology Licensing
In November 2025, Origin executed a patent license agreement for the Cas-SF01 gene-editing nuclease, bolstering its precision-editing toolkit alongside the proprietary Hi3 induction-line platform, while its Marker Breeding Service Consortium expanded licensing and commercialization pathways for GMO traits and gene-editing technologies.
4. Regulatory Approvals and Market Expansion
During the period, Beijing Origin Seed Limited received its formal crop seed production and operation license, giving Origin a second national license, and the company re-entered Northeast China, strengthening its direct production footprint in one of the country’s primary corn markets.
