Dr. Jian Zhang, 62, joined Origin Agritech’s board effective March 20, 2026. With over 20 years at DuPont Pioneer, BASF and ChinaAg JiaNuo, he brings deep expertise in molecular breeding, transgenic trait development and GMO regulatory affairs to accelerate the company’s commercial seed technology pipeline.
2. Reappointment of Dr. Z. James Chen as CFO
Dr. Z. James Chen, 60, reassumed the CFO role on March 20, 2026. He previously served as Origin’s CFO from 2012–16 and 2018–20 and as CEO in 2018, and his tenure at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority adds institutional financial stewardship ahead of the company’s next growth phase.
