Oshkosh to Highlight 24,000 JLTVs at IAV Conference, Cuts 2025 Outlook
Oshkosh Defense will showcase its JLTV platform at the IAV Conference, highlighting over 24,000 units delivered via direct commercial sales to ten allied nations. However, defense awards and AI-driven vehicle initiatives have not offset a shrinking backlog and weaker Access segment demand, prompting a trimmed 2025 outlook.
1. Defense Wins and AI Push Overshadowed by Backlog Decline and Softer Access Demand
Oshkosh reported that Defense Solutions secured $1.2 billion in new military awards during Q4, driven by ongoing JLTV and MRAP production, and advanced AI-enabled vehicle programs. However, total company backlog fell 10% year-over-year to $16 billion as civilian Access Solutions orders declined by 8% to $850 million. Management noted that global supply-chain normalization has reduced replacement demand for airport and concrete mixer equipment, while pricing pressures in municipal markets further weighed on Access revenues. In response, Oshkosh trimmed its 2025 outlook for consolidated organic revenue growth to a range of 2%–4%, down from its prior 5%–7% target, and lowered adjusted operating margin guidance by 150 basis points to 12%–13.5%.
2. Oshkosh Defense to Showcase Combat-Proven JLTV at International Armoured Vehicles Conference
At the January 20–22 International Armoured Vehicles Conference in Farnborough, England, Oshkosh Defense will present its Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) platform in Booth D8. With more than 24,000 units produced for U.S. forces and coalition partners, the JLTV offers open architecture that supports rapid integration of mission systems, weapons and sensors. As the sole OEM authorized for Direct Commercial Sales, Oshkosh has delivered JLTVs to 12 allied nations—among them The Netherlands, Slovenia, Israel and Brazil—enhancing interoperability during combined exercises. Pat Williams, Chief Programs Officer, emphasized that the platform’s modular design and proven survivability features enable partners to field upgrades faster and at lower risk than competitors’ offerings.
