Otis Launches Viva Elder-Friendly Elevators with 12-Country Rollout
Otis introduced Viva elevator solutions with handrails, enhanced lighting, intuitive signals and improved uptime for aging populations, available as retrofits or standard on Gen3 and Gen360 platforms. Initial rollout begins May 2026 in 12 markets including the US, UK, Canada and Japan, complemented by a senior center donation in France.

Otis rolled out Viva elevator solutions designed for older adults, combining human-centered design and intuitive technology to deliver improved uptime, easier entry and exit, enhanced lighting, clear visual and auditory signals and stabilizing handrails to make daily journeys safer and more comfortable.
2. Retrofit and Integration
Viva solutions can be applied through targeted upgrades on existing elevators to meet regulatory and tenant standards while extending asset life, and they come standard on new Gen3 and Gen360 installations, giving building owners flexibility over upgrade scope, cost and timing.
3. Market Rollout
The Viva upgrade packages and new installations will be available starting May 2026 in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, supporting both retrofit projects and new construction pipelines.
4. Demonstration and Community Impact
Otis donated Viva solutions to refurbish an elevator at a senior living center in Le Cannet, France, removing mobility barriers and showcasing the company’s commitment to inclusive mobility as global populations age.
