Parsons Joins SBIR Drone Project with Satellite Data Layer for Beyond-Line-of-Sight Missions

PSNPSN

Parsons has partnered with EVERYWHERE Communications under a SBIR initiative to develop Iridium Satellite–enabled beyond-line-of-sight autonomous drone systems for reliable data exfiltration in degraded environments. The collaboration includes Parsons’ TAK-as-a-Service integration, scalable drone coordination and low-bandwidth command channels for mission-critical defense operations.

1. Partnership Details

Parsons and EVERYWHERE Communications are collaborating under a Small Business Innovation Research initiative to develop next-generation autonomous drone systems that maintain connectivity in disconnected and degraded environments. The project focuses on beyond-line-of-sight operations by integrating resilient data transport and autonomous mission execution capabilities.

2. Resilient Data Transport Layer

EVERYWHERE Communications will implement an Iridium Satellite–based transport layer enabling drones to autonomously relay critical sensor data over low-bandwidth burst channels. This approach reduces reliance on continuous pilot control and ensures reliable data exfiltration in network-denied settings.

3. Parsons’ TAK-as-a-Service Role

Parsons will supply scalable TAK Server integration and sustainment services tailored for Department of War and federal agency operations. The TaaS offering delivers secure deployment, federation, and ongoing support to enable real-time situational awareness and seamless data interoperability.

4. Operational Impact

The combined system will support AI-driven search and detection patterns, collaborative drone swarms, and a shared Common Operating Picture across distributed networks. This capability aims to provide warfighters and intelligence professionals with a decisive information advantage at the tactical edge.
