Parsons to Quadruple LADWP Demand Response Capacity, Support 100% Clean Goal

PSNPSN

Parsons was selected by LADWP to deploy its Demand Response Management System under a five-year contract, boosting demand response capacity by over fourfold to optimize distributed energy resources. The DRMS integrates meter data management, SCADA, ADMS and customer systems to help LADWP reach 100% clean electricity by 2035.

1. Contract Award and Scope

Parsons won a five-year contract to deliver its Demand Response Management System to the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, aiming to expand demand response capacity by more than four times. The system will optimize the operation of distributed energy resources across LADWP’s grid.

2. Technological Integration and Capabilities

Parsons’ DRMS offers out-of-the-box interoperability with meter data management, customer care, billing, SCADA and ADMS platforms. This integrated solution enables seamless data exchange and coordination, enhancing situational awareness and control for grid operators.

3. Strategic Impact on Clean Energy Goals

The implementation supports LADWP’s target of achieving 100% clean electricity by 2035 or sooner, bolstering grid resiliency and renewable capacity. By securely interfacing distributed energy assets with legacy systems, the DRMS underpins strategic planning for future AI-driven data center demands and renewable integration.
