Pasqal SPAC Merger Targets 200-Qubit Aramco Quantum Deployment in Middle East
SCII•Pasqal, merging with SCII via a SPAC deal, installed a 200-qubit neutral-atom quantum system in Aramco’s Dhahran data center offering low-latency cloud access. This deployment marks the Middle East’s first commercial Quantum Computing-as-a-Service platform, potentially accelerating SCII’s revenue prospects through regional industrial optimization projects.
1. SPAC Merger with Pasqal
SCII is set to merge with Pasqal, a neutral-atom quantum computing company, in a deal aimed at taking Pasqal public. The merger provides Pasqal with capital to scale its hardware and software solutions while granting SCII exposure to emerging quantum markets and potential long-term revenue growth.
2. Aramco 200-Qubit Deployment
Pasqal’s 200-qubit neutral-atom system has been installed in Saudi Aramco’s Dhahran data center, providing low-latency cloud access for industrial use cases. Applications include reservoir optimization, CO2 storage modeling, well placement, rig scheduling and port logistics, each benefiting from quantum-driven solution spaces that classical systems struggle to explore.
3. First Middle East QCaaS Launch
The Dhahran installation serves as the region’s inaugural commercial Quantum Computing-as-a-Service platform, opening access to local enterprises and research institutions. This development lowers entry barriers by eliminating the need for in-house quantum infrastructure and could drive broader adoption across energy, logistics and manufacturing sectors.
4. Neutral-Atom Architecture and Integration
Pasqal’s neutral-atom approach operates at room temperature, removing the need for complex cryogenic equipment used by other quantum modalities. This simplifies deployment and integration into existing data centers, potentially reducing installation time and operational costs while enhancing system reliability.
