1. Q4 Performance Exceeds Estimates
Paychex delivered adjusted diluted EPS of $1.32 versus $1.31 expected and posted revenue of $1.61 billion, up 12% year-over-year. For fiscal 2026, revenue reached $6.51 billion, a 17% increase, with Management Solutions revenue at $1.2 billion (+14%), PEO and Insurance Solutions at $369.7 million (+9%) and interest income up 15% to $52.2 million.
2. Paycor Integration Delivers Synergies
The acquisition of Paycor HCM, completed in April 2025, contributed roughly eight percentage points to Management Solutions revenue growth and delivered more than 50 basis points of organic revenue uplift. Management also realized $100 million in cost savings through successful integration and completed an organizational realignment of client segments.
3. AI Engine and Infrastructure Modernization
Paychex completed a modernization of its underlying infrastructure, enabling the development of payroll-agnostic and stand-alone solutions. The company’s Wise AI engine, leveraging 26 trillion data points, now automates administrative tasks such as handbook updates and payroll submissions, supporting its strategic differentiation.
4. Fiscal 2027 Guidance and Market Response
For fiscal 2027, Paychex forecasts total revenue growth of 5% to 6%, Management Solutions revenue up 5% to 6%, PEO and Insurance Solutions growth of 6% to 7%, interest income of $195 million to $205 million, an effective tax rate of ~24%, an adjusted operating margin of ~44% and EPS of $5.90 to $6.01. Shares slipped about 2% in early trading as investors weighed the tempered outlook.
