1. Undergrounding proposal
PG&E filed a proposed 10-year electrical undergrounding plan with California’s energy safety regulator, targeting high wildfire-risk areas across more than 30 counties from 2028 to 2037. The company estimates long-term benefits of $117 billion, including about $6 billion in avoided vegetation management and maintenance costs. If the regulator accepts the plan, cost recovery would require California Public Utilities Commission review.
