Philip Morris to Launch Technovation in Washington on April 14, Backed by $16B Investment

Philip Morris International will debut its Technovation platform in Washington on April 14, convening regulators, scientists and business leaders to advance smoke-free product adoption. PMI U.S. has expanded its workforce from several hundred to over 3,000 employees and is investing in advanced manufacturing facilities in Colorado, Kentucky and North Carolina.

1. Technovation U.S. Launch

Philip Morris International will host its first U.S. Technovation event on April 14 in Washington D.C., uniting policymakers, scientists, media and business leaders to explore scientific, regulatory and market developments that can accelerate the adoption of smoke-free alternatives in the U.S.

2. U.S. Manufacturing and Workforce Expansion

PMI U.S. has scaled its workforce from several hundred employees to more than 3,000 and is investing in advanced production facilities in Aurora, Colorado; Owensboro, Kentucky; and Wilson, North Carolina to support its growing smoke-free product portfolio.

3. Smoke-Free Portfolio Investments

Since 2008, PMI has invested over $16 billion in developing and commercializing smoke-free products used by more than 43 million adults worldwide, with ZYN nicotine pouches authorized by the FDA and smoke-free products accounting for 41.5% of its 2025 net revenues.
