PPG Unveils Two-Minute Cure Waterborne Primer, Marks 200th Dry Docking, Penske Livery Return

PPG launched AQUACRON® Waterborne Shop Primers that cure in two minutes, cut VOCs below 0.20 lbs./gal and reduce steel fabricators’ prep and curing costs. The company marked its 200th electrostatic dry docking and will showcase its livery on nine Team Penske cars for its 60th anniversary season.

1. PPG Launches AQUACRON WSP Shop Primers

PPG introduced its AQUACRON® Waterborne Shop Primers for structural steel, offering a two-minute cure under standard heat, smooth finish, water resistance and VOC emissions below 0.20 lbs./gal. These primers reduce sandblasting needs and cut labor and storage costs for steel fabricators while complying with stringent emissions standards.

2. 200th Electrostatic Dry Docking Milestone

PPG completed its 200th electrostatic dry docking service, applying advanced coatings to marine vessels to prevent corrosion and extend maintenance intervals. This milestone underscores PPG's technical capabilities and recurring service revenue potential in industrial and maritime markets.

3. Penske Livery Returns for Nine Races

In celebration of Team Penske's 60th anniversary, PPG branding will appear on nine race cars, marking the return of the livery partnership. The move enhances PPG's visibility among motorsport audiences and reinforces its brand association with performance and innovation.
