PPL Electric wins DOE grant up to $71.5 million for Montour grid reconductoring project

The funding supports PPL Electric’s Montour Grid Resilience and Advanced Reconductoring Project through the DOE’s SPARK program. The project will rebuild 29.3 miles of an existing 230-kilovolt transmission corridor to boost reliability, resilience and capacity; award terms remain subject to negotiation with DOE.
