Precision BioSciences names Naresh Tanna CFO, elevates Alex Kelly to COO

Precision BioSciences reshuffled its senior leadership team, effective Aug. 1, 2026.

• Chief Financial Officer Alex Kelly was promoted to a newly created Chief Operating Officer role, overseeing key customer-facing functions.
• Naresh Tanna, vice president of investor relations and chief of staff to the CEO, was named Chief Financial Officer, responsible for corporate finance, reporting, and investor relations.
• Chief Development Officer Cindy Atwell remains in charge of clinical development for PBGENE-HBV and PBGENE-DMD.
• Chief Scientific Officer Cassie Gorsuch will lead all research functions, including translational sciences and next-generation programs.
