PSE&G Efficiency Programs Drive $960M Annual Savings, 3.3M MWh Cut

Since October 2020, PSE&G’s efficiency programs have generated $960 million in annual customer bill savings and distributed $1.4 billion in rebates to roughly 500,000 households and 22,000 businesses. These initiatives delivered 3.3 million MWh and 83 million therms in annual energy savings, helping avoid 2.4 million metric tons of CO2.

1. Program Scale and Customer Impact

Since October 2020 through December 2025, PSE&G’s energy efficiency programs have engaged approximately 500,000 residential customers and 22,000 business participants. These efforts have yielded $960 million in annual customer savings and provided $1.4 billion in upfront rebates for home energy assessments, smart thermostats, efficient appliances and demand response enrollment.

2. Business Projects and Economic Support

PSE&G has completed nearly 35,000 energy-saving projects for small businesses, schools, municipalities and hospitals, working with over 1,000 trade allies and more than 100 union-affiliated contractors. Union labor has accounted for $130 million in energy efficiency investments, helping organizations reduce operating costs and reinvest savings locally.

3. Environmental and Workforce Benefits

The programs deliver annual savings of 3.3 million MWh of electricity and 83 million therms of natural gas, avoiding 2.4 million metric tons of CO2 emissions—equivalent to removing 530,000 cars—and powering 475,000 homes. They have also supported over 9,300 clean energy careers, strengthening the local workforce and grid reliability.
