LRCX•PSMC has placed a NT$1.04 billion order with Lam Research for semiconductor fabrication equipment to expand wafer production capacity at its Hsinchu plant. This investment marks PSMC’s largest tooling purchase this quarter and is expected to accelerate its manufacturing throughput.
PSMC has signed a NT$1.04 billion agreement with Lam Research for multiple semiconductor fabrication systems. The package covers advanced etch and deposition tools designed to support next-generation process technologies.
The equipment is slated for installation in H2 2026 at PSMC’s Hsinchu manufacturing campus, where it will boost wafer starts and relieve current capacity constraints.
This marks PSMC’s largest single tooling purchase of the quarter, aligning with its strategy to ramp up production in response to rising demand from major fabless semiconductor customers.
